Mikrotik
My article this time I will discuss about the proxy. Mikrotik is independent Linux-based operating system for computers that function as a router.
For Mikrotik installation is not needed additional software or other additional components. Mikrotik is designed for easy use and very well used for administrative purposes such as computer network design and build a small-scale computer network system to the complex ones.
Mikrotik mikrotikls made by a company in the city of Riga, Latvia. For those who do not know, Latvia is a country that is a “fraction” of the former Soviet Union or Russia today. With the trademark name Mikrotik start established in 1995 that was originally intended for Internet service companies (ISPs) or Internet Service Provider (ISP) that serves its customers using wireless technology or wireless. Currently MikroTikls provides services to many wireless ISPs for Internet access services in many countries around the world and also very popular in Indonesia.
Mikrotik on standard hardware-based Personal Computer (PC) is known as the stability, quality control and flexibility for different types of data packets and route or further handling of the process known as routing. Mikrotik created as a router-based PCs more useful for an ISP who wants to run multiple applications ranging from the most mild to advanced. Examples of applications that can be applied with the Mikrotik routing is an application other than access capacity (bandwidth) management, firewall, wireless access point (WiFi), backhaul link, hotspot system, Virtual Private Netword (VPN) servers and many more.
Mikrotik is not free software if you want to use it in full, it takes a license from MikroTikls to be able to use it alias paid. Mikrotik is known as Level on the license. Available from Level 0 and 1, 3 to 6, for Level 1 is the demo version of RouterOS can be used free of charge with the functions which are very limited. Of course, each level has different abilities according to the price, Level 6 is the highest level with the most complete functions. Can be described briefly described as follows:
- Level 0 (free); not need a license to use it and use features restricted only for 24 hours after installation is done.
- Level 1 (demo); at this level you can use it as a standard routing functions only with a setting and have no limitation of time to use it.
- Level 3; already includes level 1 plus the ability for the management of all hardware-based or Ethernet Network Card and management of client type wireless devices.
- Level 4; already includes level 1 and 3 plus the ability to manage the wireless device types of access points.
- Level 5, includes level 1, 3 and 4 plus the ability to manage the number of hotspot users more.
- Level 6; includes all levels and has no limitation whatsoever.
If you want just to experiment please use the Level 1 as the beginning. As for anyone who wants to use all the features of Mikrotik then inevitably you have to buy a license. good luck
